James’ What You’re Watching Weekly – Week 14

Rough week last week at 2-4. On the season I’m 43-43-3. Lines are provided by DraftKings

New England Patriots @ Pittsburgh Steelers(-6)

Not sure what Vegas is thinking with this line. The over-under at 30.5 makes a little more sense but not much. Pittsburgh is an enigma wrapped in a conundrum. Both defenses are great. Both offenses are offensive. No one will win by six. My heart says Pittsburgh wins but not by six. Take the points and New England

Jacksonville Jaguars @ Cleveland Browns (-3.5)

The second game of the week, the second match-up of backup quarterbacks. Joe Flacco versus CJ Beathard was not on anyone’s dream matchup for this game. The Jags are road warriors but that was with TLaw under center. Joe showed last week he can still sling it while looking completely disingenuous. The Browns might win but the game will be close. Jags +3.5.

Seattle Seahawks @ San Francisco 49ers (-10.5)

The best team in the NFL is healthy and at home. Seattle is falling apart. I don’t see them making the playoffs and I definitely don’t see this game being close. Take the Niners and lay the points.

Buffalo Bills @ Kansas City Chiefs (-1.5)

Buffalo needs this game but unfortunately, after last week’s result so does Kansas City. The Chief’s defense is their strength for the first time since 15 took over for Alex Smith, that isn’t good for Josh Allen whose turnaround has taken a back slide. He’s still dominant he’s just back to turning the ball over way too much. The Chiefs defense stifles the Bills and they cover the 1.5 easily

Philadelphia Eagles @ Dallas Cowboys (-3.5)

Could Philly lose two in a row? Dallas at home has been a juggernaut. But these teams have had tightly contested games recently. I’m not going to say who will win but whoever does, doesn’t do it by more than a field goal. Take the Eagles and the points.

Green Bay Packers @ New York Giants (+6.5)

The Packers started the season badly but they have seemingly lucked into another franchise quarterback while pissing off their last. The Giants thought they had theirs but like the rest of us found out quickly Daniel Jones isn’t it. Tommy DeVito starts again against a rebounding defensive unit. The Giants get stomped at home. Packers by a touchdown if not more.

Tennessee Titans @ Miami Dolphins (-13)

Mike McDaniel has brought Kyle’s system to the East Coast and dare I say improved on it. Tyreek Hill is the MVP that shouldn’t be questioned. Tennessee’s defense can’t slow him and Waddle down. Achane is back and the run game is as good as ever. You have to choose to stop one but Tennessee can’t stop both. This is a lock-to-be snooze feast of the week. Luckily there is another Monday night game that might be more entertaining.
