Saints Notes:

Offense-On top of mediocre play from Derek Carr, he can not seem to stay on the field. I have a feeling that to move on from this coaching staff, we will also have to move on from Carr. The scheme and play-calling are why Carr is playing like he is this year. He is better than this but it is time to cut ties with everyone. When the run game was established, the Saints started playing well. It also helps that Detroit was playing defense not to give up big plays so New Orleans slowly worked their way down the field. Chris Olave is trying his best with this offense. It seems like Taysom Hill in an option version of this offense would do better than what the offense looks like now.

Defense-Dennis Allen continues to lose the one thing he was good at and that’s the defense. Nobody is doing well consistently. Not enough pressure was put on Goff in this game. Receivers are getting wide open. I do not know what else to do because Hall of Fame-level players are on this defense and they are being utilized to a small fraction of their potential.

Coaching-I thought someone was getting fired after a quick 21-0 lead in the first quarter by the Lions. Somehow the players persevered and made the game close late. Derek Carr getting hurt put a stamp on any comeback. I knew this would be the toughest game on the schedule and with a close game late there is no reason not to capitalize off the success midway through this game.
