In this week 12 matchup between NFC West rivals Rams and Cardinals faced off in the desert for matchup number 91 in the history of the rivalry.
To start the game the Rams received the ball and threw an absolute bomb to Tutu Atwell. He ended up having three big catches for a total of 76 yards. The Rams capped that drive off in a dominant fashion with a 7-yard pass to Tyler Higbee. On the Cardinal’s first drive, they answered right back with a meticulous 6-minute drive that ended with a Kyler Murray 2-yard TD run. After this play the Rams were penalized on the extra point, enticing the Cardinals to go for a two-point strike from the one-yard line. They were successful with a two-yard run from Clayton Tune. This would be the last time the Cardinals would score until garbage time in the 4th quarter.
In the second quarter, the Rams started out down by one but would finish the half up by 13. Kyren Williams started his rampage and bulldozed his way down the field to set up a 5-yard TD pass to Tyler Higbee once again. Higbee finished the game with 5 catches, 29 yards and 2 TDs. Rams defense shut down the Cardinals and allowed the Rams to pass the ball in with Kyren Williams with a little less than a minute left in the half.
The only exciting to happen for the Cardinals is they converted a fake punt. This was then followed by the Cardinals losing 27 total yards in the next set of downs. Third quarter the Rams scored three points on a 24-yard field goal from our kicker Lucas Havrisik.
The fourth quarter rolls around and all hell breaks loose. Kyren Williams put a clinic on the Cardinals. He scored another TD. Finishing the day with 16 carries, 143 yards rushing, 6 rec 61 yards receiving and two TDs. He was basically done for the night after putting the Rams up 31-8. On the next drive, the Rams scored with Royce Freeman putting the hurt thang on Budda Baker with a ferocious 23-yard run. Putting the Cardinals out of their misery.
Carson Wentz got to relieve Matthew Stafford. Wentz finished with a stat line of 3 beautiful handoffs. Stafford finished with 229 yards passing, 4 yds and 1 interception.
The Cardinals did end up scoring again but the punk starting receiver who I will not name decided to taunt our backup corner down by 23.
Most complete game by the Rams so far. On to face Cleveland in sofi.
Rams win 37-14
