Patriots-Commanders Game Reaction

It seems like things can’t get any worse, right? But after the Patriots’ 20-17 loss to the Commanders, it’s hard to imagine things getting any better. And unfortunately, with Belichick receiving a contract extension in the off-season, it’s doubtful that things will change much. Maybe we’ll get a new QB, but who knows?

At the moment, the Patriots are sitting at a 2-7 record, and things are not looking good. Even if the Pats win out, they will only have a 10-7 record, which will barely scrape them into the wildcard position. This was always going to be a tough season, as all three teams in the AFC East got better, while the Patriots, objectively, got worse. JuJu, who had a high ceiling, has failed us, the team is beat up, and things are looking bleak. The only bright spot in this season, to me, has been Demario Douglas.

The Patriots need to look ahead and ask themselves, “What are we going to do?” The team needs a new plan, as this rebuild has only gone backward. It feels like I paid someone to hammer a nail into a wall, but they used a sledgehammer instead, and now I have a giant hole in the outside world. What’s the next step? Well, who knows in this backward organization.
