Brett Maher and a ridiculous spot by referee cost the Rams a win.

This Sunday we had a matchup between the Los Angeles Rams and the Pittsburgh Steelers in Sofi Stadium, which was overrun by Steeler Fans.

The first quarter wasn’t really noteworthy as neither team could put points on the board. In the first half, the Steelers did not convert a single first down and could only muster 91 yards of offense and a field goal. The Rams didn’t have much production either, until the final drive of the first half where Matthew Stafford and the boys drove 88 yards down the field and found Tutu Atwell miraculously in front of the the endzone for a 31-yard touchdown with seventeen seconds left. Followed by a Brett Maher missed PAT. The first half ended Rams:9 Steelers: 3

The first half began with a kickoff to the Rams and then an immediate interception was thrown to Watt. The Steelers then capitalized on this by scoring a TD on a Pickett QB sneak. On the ensuing Rams drive they answer back. Puka Nacua had an incredible catch on the sideline, double-covered and just barely getting his feet in. Puka finished the game with 8 receptions and 154 yards. Darrell Henderson then punched the ball in for the score. To make up for the missed extra kick earlier the Rams went for two and hit Cooper Kupp for the extra points. Cooper only finished the game with two receptions and 29 yards.

Now it’s time for me to rant about Maher. This man gets paid millions to make kicks and had some of the worst shanks I have ever seen. I swear one of them looked like they were headed to the sideline. The guy left seven points on the board and guess how much we lost by? *spoiler alert* seven. At the time I’ve written this he has been cut and thank God they cut him. He had some pretty bad misses in other games as well so I don’t think this is an overreaction.

The Steelers decided to explode in the fourth quarter scoring back to back touchdowns by Jalen Warren and Najee. The score is 24-17.

The last time the Rams had the ball they were forced to punt. Leading to my other rant… on a 4th and one with a little over two minutes to go the Steelers lined up for their own little tush push. Except my man fell sideways and I question if he even made it to his own line of scrimmage. Except he was given the first down, and the Rams, with no timeouts, were unable to challenge. Such an insanely awful spot to take a possession away from Matthew Stafford and the Rams.

Final score

Rams:17

Steelers:24
