The Oklahoma State Cowboys defeat the West Virginia Mountaineers 48-34.
The game started with WVU receiving the opening kickoff but would go 3 and out. However, OSU would fumble the punt giving the ball right back to WVU. 2 plays later the Mountaineers would fumble the ball as well and give it to the Cowboys. OSU would try to take advantage of the turnover and manage to get a field goal out of it. WVU on their next drive would throw an interception giving the ball right back to OSU. This time OSU would capitalize by finding the end zone to go up 10-0. WVU would finally get their offense going and drive down for a touchdown. An Oklahoma State punt and a West Virginia field tied the game at 10. OSU would regain the lead with a FG before WVU would take their first lead of the game finding the end zone once again. That’s where the score would be at the end of the half.
A couple punts, an OSU interception, and a WVU punt would be how the first 4 drives of the second half would go. The Cowboys would regain the lead with a touchdown when Bowman found Bray for 5 yards. The Mountaineers would respond quickly and take the lead right back with a touchdown of their own. Oklahoma State would then have an answer for themselves as well scoring another TD to take the lead back. This time it was a 16 yard run by Ollie Gordon. West Virginia would tie it on their next drive at 27 with a field goal. Oklahoma State would find the end zone again and the force WVU to turn it over on downs before OSU found the end zone another time to give them a 41-27 lead. West Virginia keep the game alive by finding the end zone to cut the lead to 7. The Cowboys would put the nail in the coffin with a 53 yard touchdown run by Ollie Gordon. WVU would turn it over on downs again and the Cowboys were able to take a knee to seal their win!
