Last week’s action netted us a 3-3-1 record bringing our season total to 19-21-2, we’re still chasing .500. As always lines are provided by DraftKings.
Jacksonville Jaguars @ New Orleans Saints (-2)
A knee injury to Trevor Lawrence last week puts this game into a big question. Derek Carr isn’t quite the savor the Saints thought he’d be. This will be a defensive battle as both teams’ defenses have turned it up. I’m going to take the Jags
Buffalo Bills @ New England Patriots (+9)
The Patriots are bad. As a Steeler fan, I revel in this. The Bills on the other hand haven’t impressed me much. Bill always gets the Patriots up for divisional opponents and I think this will be another close game or close at the end game leaving a back door cover open. Bills win Patriots’ cover.
Detroit Lions @ Baltimore Ravens (-3)
Baltimore got lucky in London with Tannehill going down. It was a win but wasn’t great against a team that’s in a back slide. Detroit went to Tampa last week and got a 14-point win against an up-and-coming Bucs team. Detroit’s defense will give Lamar fits. Take the points and the Lions.
Los Angeles Chargers @ Kansas City Chiefs (-5.5)
The Chiefs aren’t the offensive juggernaut they once were. The Chargers are the same talented ineptly run organization they’ve always been. Brandon Staley is wasting Herbert. I feel some back door chicanery going on in Kansas City Sunday afternoon. Take the Chargers and the points.
Miami Dolphins @ Philadelphia Eagles (-2.5)
The first match-up of replacee versus replacer. Hurts versus Tua seems like a battle we could see in early February for years to come. Both teams are talented. Both teams are well-coached. A high-powered offense versus a nasty defense. The Dolphins will get their points and the Eagles will get their stops. It’s what happens the other way that’ll decide this game. I still don’t think Jalen and the offense are clicking enough yet to keep up with Tua. Taking Miami and the 2.5.
San Francisco 49ers @ Minnesota Vikings (+6.5)
The Niners had their first loss last week while also losing key contributors. It is unclear if CMC, Deebo, or Trent Williams will play. Early indications are that all three will go, however, missing one or two shouldn’t be as impactful against the Vikings because their defense is nowhere near as good as Cleveland’s. Also, the Niners’ defense will give prime-time Kirk nightmares. I feel the Niners by at least a touchdown.
