Bryce Young had his best game in the NFL on Sunday. He had no turnovers and finished the game 23/38 with 217 yards and a touchdown in the 42-21 loss to the Dolphins.
The Panthers jumped out to a quick 14-0 lead in the first quarter off of a Chuba Hubbard 6-yard touchdown run and a 8-yard Young to Thielen touchdown connection. Thielen had another career day in what is starting to look like a career year. He had 11 catches for 115 yards and a touchdown.
The Panthers defense showed little resistance against the high-powered Dolphins offense. A defense that was decimated by injuries, missing 3/4 of the starting secondary from week 1 was unable to keep the Dolphins in check. The Dolphins scored 35 unanswered points after going down 14-0 in the first quarter. The lone highlight for the Panthers defense was a pick-six for Troy Hill late in the 4th quarter.
The Panthers head into the bye week 0-6. Maybe some new life however when they get back as coach Reich announced today that Offensive Coordinator Thomas Brown will be taking over the offensive play-calling duties when the team faces the Houston Texans in two weeks.
