Phillies Notes:

Zack Wheeler-An absolutely stellar performance from wheels…until his last inning. Going into the 6th inning I expected a reliever to come in because you could see Wheeler start to slow down. There needs to be better recognition from coaches on whether or not to pull the starter earlier.

Pitching-Not a great performance after Wheeler and not great coaching either. Hopefully pitching improves after this bad performance.

Batting-The bats were doing good but again continued to leave runners in scoring position. If the hits continued to roll then this would be an easy win but everyone seemed to lose steam.

Defense-A few errors or poor decisions led to base runners and scores. Infield seems to be in a funk from the start but hopefully this changes into game 3.

Momentum-All the momentum was lost after the first home run allowed. Nobody was giving this team confidence late and when it was needed. Going into Philly for game 3 I expect this to change.
