1. Kansas City Chiefs – Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes are the it couple in the NFL. They are the defending champs and should not be dethroned just yet.
2. Philadelphia Eagles – The runners-up last year only improved. They are the best NFC team.
3. Cincinnati Bengals – The defense took some hits this off-season but the offense got better where it mattered. The young stars aged and they added Orlando Brown.
4. Jacksonville Jaguars – Doug Pederson and Trevor Lawrence have another offseason together as well as getting the top offseason acquisition from a year ago Calvin Ridley in the fold. They’ll be a dark horse.
5. Miami Dolphins – Tua showed last that when his head is right he has elite potential. It appears he’s learned to fall. If he and his weapons can stay healthy they have a decent shot at a long playoff run.
6. Baltimore Ravens – Lamar got his money and some weapons. He also got a new offensive coordinator coming off two National Championships. His health is the only concern but they’ve got the best potential for his career
7. San Francisco 49ers – My second NFC team. The most complete team in my opinion. The problem is they bet big on Brock Purdy and gave up on Trey Lance. There’s no Jimmy anymore. Also, they are playing chicken with a top-five defensive end. These factors dropped them hard.
8. New York Jets – Aaron Rodgers looks like a new man in New York. He’s got the weapons he hardly had in Green Bay. The defense is top-notch. They’ve got a good chance of winning big.
9. Minnesota Vikings – The NFC North still belongs to the Vikings. There are some teams with great potential but I’ll bet on Early Sunday Game Kirk till the cows come home.
10. Dallas Cowboys – The Cowboys are good. Their coach and quarterback are holding them back. McCarthy needs to go if they ever want to get back to the big game. As long as he’s there the divisional round is their ceiling.
