The Denver Broncos have wrapped up Week 2 of the pre-season losing 21-20 to the 49ers. Let’s take a look at the game.
So we have some signs of improvement which is awesome. Jarrett Stidham looked much better than he did last week. Going 12-17 for 130 yards. Russell looked decent despite getting very little playtime. Ben DiNucci was more or less the same as last week. RB Jaleel McLaughlin has been a lot of fun to watch this preseason so far scoring 2 TDs one receiving and one on the ground. Also shows signs of being a potentially dangerous return man. Unfortunately, our O-line seems to be a bit of a safety hazard only allowing 2 sacks but an insane amount of pressure. Something we need to fix before we Injure our Qbs. The defense held its own for most of the game getting a total of 39 tackles, 3 sacks, and 2 ints. And Brett Maher got both his FGs and the extra point.
So the conclusion?
We are seeing improvements on the offense from last week which is all you can ask for. Still, improvements are to be made like the offensive line not trying to kill Russell. But for being the 2nd preseason game under a new coach I feel things are going well. I wouldn’t worry about the wins or the losses during the preseason. I’d look at it more like a practice. Something we can watch and evaluate the talent on the roster.
Broncos Player of the Game: Jaleel McLaughlin. Hard not to enjoy watching him play.
Worst Broncos player of the game: Ben DiNucci. Just not a good night for Ben
Darian Thompson
