The Toronto Maple Leafs had a busy week, playing 4 games on the west coast, but unfortunately it was a bit of a struggle as they go 2-2. Nylander is still pacing the team in goals with 33 while Marner continues to lead in points with 77. Nothing much has changed standings wise as the Leafs sit a distant 2nd in the Atlantic, 19 points behind the Bruins. Here are the individual game results:
2/26:
TOR 5 SEA 1
The Leafs continued the strong play showcased over the past couple weeks in the first game of the west coast road trip in Seattle. Vince Dunn (11) put the Kraken out to an early lead, but that would be all they get as Giordano (4), Tavares (27), Liljegren (5) and Matthews (27, 28) all scored to secure the win for Toronto.
3/1:
TOR 2 EDM 5
Connor McDavid lit up the Leafs in this one with 2 goals (51, 52) and 1 Assist (66) to help the Oilers easily get the win against the Leafs.
3/2:
TOR 2 CGY 1
The Leafs played one of their best games of the season and it resulted in a tight win against the Flames. Goaltending and Defence was on point for the Leafs, allowing only one goal (Coleman, 14) on 26 shots. Marner (22) and Jarnkrok (13) both scored to secure the win.
3/4:
TOR 1 VAN 4
A lack of scoring and a third period meltdown sealed the fate for the Leafs in this one. The first goal of the game was not scored until Kuzmenko’s 29th gave the Canucks a 1-0 lead just under 18 minutes into the second period. Tavares (28) would tie the game early in the 3rd but Pettersson (29), Miller (21), and Aman (3) would all score within 11 minutes of each other in the 3rd to secure the win over the Leafs.
The Leafs return to action on Tuesday in New Jersey to face the Devils. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:00PM ET.
