The Chiefs win a shootout to win Super Bowl 57 against the Eagles by the score of 38-35. The Chiefs have now won 2 Super Bowls in 4 years.
The game started fast with both offenses going 75 yards on their first drive to put up 7. The Eagles when Hurts snuck it in from a yard out and then the Chiefs answered with a Mahomes TD pass to Kelce from 18 yards out. The Chiefs’ defense would force a Philly punt and would drive again but would settle for a field goal attempt but Butker would doink it off the upright. The Eagles would take advantage quickly with a 5-play drive resulting in a Hurts to Brown TD pass. The Chiefs would punt and give the ball back to Philly. But on 3rd down Hurts would drop the ball and Bolton would scoop it up for a touchdown. The Eagles would then score 10 unanswered going into the half with Hurts tacking on another rushing TD. The Eagles would have a 24-14 lead at the half.
The Chiefs come out of the locker room and drove the field with ease. They would find the end-zone when Pacheco pounded it in from a yard out to cut the Eagles’ lead to 3. The Chiefs would hold Philly to a field goal. Then the KC offense made it look easy driving another 75 yards and a touchdown. This time it was Mahomes to Toney after Toney ran an absolutely beautiful route. This would give the Chiefs their first lead of the game. The Chiefs’ D would force a punt and Toney made a huge return. Toney would return it 68 yards and get down to the 5, the 68-yard punt return was a SB record. The Chiefs would capitalize on the really short field and Mahomes would find Skyy Moore for a touchdown. The Eagles needed to answer and they did. They drive 75 yards in just over 4 minutes and scored a TD and 2-pt conversion to tie the game at 35. The Chiefs would keep the ball for most of the rest of the game other than 8 seconds. The Chiefs would play smart football to drain the clock and thanks to a Bradbury holding the Chiefs were able to kick a chip shot field goal to take the lead with 8 seconds. The Eagles didn’t do anything on the kickoff or the Hail Mary attempt. The Kansas City Chiefs would win the Super Bowl 38-35!!!
The Chiefs had several different offensive players step up late. Juju came alive in the 4th quarter with several receptions, Moore found the end zone, and Toney made 2 huge plays, the short TD reception on a stellar route and his 68-yard punt return.
Most importantly, give credit to that Chiefs’ offensive line. Facing the #1 defense in terms of QB sacks and they didn’t give up a sack at all.
