Leafs win 2 of 3 games this week

The Toronto Maple Leafs win 2 of their 3 games this week, and earned a point in all 3 games (L was in OT). They again continue to hold 2nd in the Atlantic division, 12 points behind the 1st place Boston Bruins. Here are the game results:

1/17:

FLA 4 TOR 5 F/OT

The Leafs were looking outmatched and fell behind 4-2 in the 2nd period but they rallied back to win on OT. Auston Matthews (22) began the comeback late in the 2nd period, and William Nylander (23, 24) tied the game in the 3rd before scoring the winning goal less than 2 minutes into OT.

1/19:

WPG 1 TOR 4

This one was a bit easier than the last game. Toronto pretty much sealed this one with a 3 goal 2nd period. Winnipeg was on their way to getting shutout but ended up scoring their lone goal in the 3rd. Auston Matthews stayed hot with 2 more goals to bring him to 24 on the season.

1/21:

TOR 2 MTL 3 F/OT

Toronto looked to be continuing their good stretch, jumping out to an early 2-0 lead but that would be all they would manage allowing their longtime rival to storm back and take this one in OT. Giordano (3) and Jarnkrok (10) scored the only goals for Toronto in the game.

The Leafs are back at it again tomorrow night at 7:00PM ET where they will face off against the New York Islanders at Scotiabank Arena.
