That’s all she wrote for the Minnesota Vikings and their magical run. I knew coming into the game, if we were to lose it would be because of the defense and not the offense. Let’s take a look at the offense and defense for yesterday’s game.
The offense started hot and, other than a few drives played well throughout the game. Cousins was 31/39 for 273 and 2 TDs, Cousins played well and other than the last throw of the game made good decisions. The line wasn’t good again today, Cousins was getting hit all game. Cook ran 15 times for 60 yards. Jefferson started well but then the Vikings took him out of the game plan in the 2nd half for whatever reason, he only had one target in the 4th quarter. TJ Hockenson had another great game against the Giants with 10 receptions for 129 yards. Adam Thielen had 3 catches for 50 yards. Sadly there were a couple of drives that we needed to score points that we just stalled out and didn’t. This game was not lost because of the offense though. That will fall on the defense.
The defense played terribly in the first half and they played ok in the second half. Once again the defense gave up over 400 yards to the Giants. They were able to sack Daniel Jones 3 times and were able to pressure him. The only problem with the pressures was they didn’t stay in their lane assignments so Jones was able to break contain and ran for 78 yards. The defense made the Giants’ offense look like the best offense in the NFL. Barkley was able to run all over the defense. What didn’t help was a 20-play drive that lasted over 10 minutes in the 2nd quarter.
