Philadelphia never stood a chance in this game. Toronto scored 5 goals within the first 2 periods to seal the victory. Conor Timmins scored his first career NHL goal in the 2nd period, and Auston Matthews reached 20 for the season with the only goal of the 3rd period.
1/11:
NSH 1 TOR 2
John Tavares (20) put the Leafs on top in the first, but that lead would disappear after Filip Forsberg (17) scored early in the second. The game would remain tied at 1 until Mitch Marner (16) scored the winning goal with 1:15 left in the third.
1/12:
TOR 1 DET 4
The Leafs just couldn’t get anything going against Ville Husso and the Red Wings. Rasmus Sandin (3) scored the only goal for Toronto in the 2nd, meanwhile Lucas Raymond (12), Robby Fabbri (3), Ben Chiarot (3), and Moritz Seider (3) all scored for Detroit.
1/14:
TOR 3 BOS 4
The outcome is about what you would expect playing the now 33-5-4 Bruins, but the Leafs did put up a fight. The game was tied at 3 after goals from Bunting (14), Engvall (9), Matthews (21), but a goal from the Bruins’ Matt Grzelcyk (2) with just 1:16 left sealed the Leafs fate.
The Leafs will resume play in Toronto against the Florida Panthers (20-20-4) on Tuesday. The game is scheduled to get underway at 7:00PM ET.
