1/4 vs Tampa Bay Lightning win 5-1
Gustavsson was in net for the Wild and stopped 34 of 35 shots to carry the Wild to a victory. Kirill Kaprizov scored 2 goals. The Wild played well after a couple of days off and looked fresh. Gustavsson has played well this season so far. He is a solid backup and who knows maybe a starter in the future.
1/7 @ Buffalo Sabres loss 6-5 in OT
For as good as the Wild played against Tampa, tonight was the opposite. The Wild were coming in on a 3-game win streak and would leave with the streak over. Fleury started in the net and struggled as well as the defense. The Wild offense was able to keep them in it but ultimately couldn’t score enough goals. Fleury made his 964th career appearance, passing Ed Belfour to take sole possession of fifth place all-time among goaltenders. Fleury needs seven appearances to tie Terry Sawchuk for fourth place. The Wild ended the week 22-13-3
