Wolfpack goes 1-1 and loses starter Mahorcic with a knee injury.

NC State played Coppin State in their heritage game which took place in Reynolds Coliseum. The Wolfpack came away with a 94-72 victory, but in some aspects, they lost the night. Starting center Dusan Mahorcic dislocated his kneecap and is out indefinitely. It’s a huge loss for the Wolfpack if he misses the rest of the season.

State went to Miami on Saturday looking for their first ACC win. The Wolfpack were hot early, leading by as much as 16 points in the first half before ultimately leading by 9 at the half. The Hurricanes came out of the half with a fast start hitting back-to-back 3s cutting the lead to 3 just 40 seconds into the second half. It felt like every time the Wolfpack would extend the lead back out, Miami would respond with a run of their own. NC State was up 3 when starter Jack Clark fouled out with 7:02 remaining, and Miami took advantage. They went on a 15-6 run to end the game and give the Hurricanes the 80-73 as the Wolfpack lose out on a chance to get a Quad 1 win that would go a long way come tournament time.
