As a Knick Fan year in and year out there is always that hope for next season. Always the great buzz of the off-season and how we can better the team. This off-season, we went all in for PG Jalen Brunson from the Mavericks. We have seen a boost in offensive consistency as the Knicks are fighting to stay relevant in the race.
This week the Knicks matched up against the Grizzlies, Pistons, Bucks, and Mavericks. The week was about as good as a Knick season goes 1 win and 3 losses, giving us a record of 10-13.
The Grizzlies beat the Knicks 127-123, the Pistons lost 140-110, the Bucks inched out the Knicks 109-103, and the Mavericks win as well 121-100. Barrett, Randle, and Brunson averaged 19, 23, and 19 points respectively. Kept pace in all the losses except for the Mavericks who they just let go altogether. A total of 50 Turnovers across those games seems a bit too high for a team to maintain success.
The Knicks have to bring all levels of play up to what is expected of them. Barrett, Randle, and Brunson. The offense and Defense have to be up to the level that the off-season has set out the expectation. Our top three players are talented enough to generate an offense that does not give up the ball at such a high rate. The expectation was that we were “one” player away, and we went and got that “one” player. With that expectation set, why have we not met the task of winning?
