The record might say 1-2 on the week, but Buffalo showed glimpses that the season might not be totally lost…
The week started at home against the Lightning. Buffalo would ultimately drop the game 5-6 in overtime. It’s a hard pill to swallow as they held the lead in the third period but couldn’t put the game away.

Buffalo would bounce back 2 days later in Detroit when they would get back in the win column with a 5-4 victory over the Red Wings in a shootout.

Unfortunately for the Sabres, they couldn’t close out the week on a high note. They would end up falling to the Avalanche 4-6.
