Pistons Struggles Continue But Get One Big Game from Hayes

Sunday saw the Cavs come to town to face our Pistons. With Cleveland sitting just behind the Bucks for second place you just knew they were looking to come in and smack us in the mouth. They did just that beating Detroit by nine, 102-94.

The Pistons through the first three-quarters of the game. Leading by six after the first and five at halftime and after the third.

This game was decided in the fourth quarter. That is when Donovan Mitchell and Evan Mobley took over and guided the Cavs back. They outscored Detroit 29-16 in the final 12 minutes.

Bojan Bogdanovic had the night off and the Pistons missed him. Killian Hayes had a good night going for 16 points and 8 assists in the loss.

Cavaliers – 102

Pistons – 94

Tuesday night Detroit was back at it against the New York Knicks. This game started ugly for the Pistons and just got worse. Detroit never had a shot in this blowout as they lose 140-110!

Julius Randle dropped 36 and Mitchell Robinson had 13 rebounds for the Knicks, as they led by 14 at the half and just kept the foot on the gas peddle through the whole game.

Isaiah Stewart led all Pistons with 19 points. With Cade Cunningham out indefinitely, someone on this team has got to help out Bojan because he cannot do it himself.

Knicks – 140

Pistons – 110

In their third and final game of the week, the Pistons took on the visiting Mavericks.

This one took overtime because Detroit decided to blow the ten-point lead they had after three quarters. But the story of this game was Killian Hayes, who has been playing well since Cade went down. Tonight however felt like a late game coming out party.

Hayes dropped 8 of his 22 points in overtime and sealed the win for the Pistons down the stretch. Bojan Bogdanovic led all scorers with 30 and may have found a player that can help him out in Killian.

Mavericks – 125

Pistons – 131

Detroit (6-18) continues to struggle mightily and things do not get any easier as they take to the road for three games next week against the Heat, Pelicans, and Grizzlies after one last home game on Sunday against those same Grizzlies.

GM Troy Weaver and owner Tom Gores cannot pretend that Dwayne Casey is the answer to lead this team anymore. Casey has to be feeling the warmth from being in the coaching hot seat because his chair is on fire!
