In a season filled with disappointment, Texas A&M ends its season with a BANG! The Aggies upset the #6 LSU Tigers in College Station on Saturday night, by a score of 38-23.
Devon Achane had a career-high 215 rushing yards with (2) touchdowns and Connor Weigman threw for (2) touchdowns of his own. The defense added a touchdown of their own (Demani Richardson’s fumble return) as the Aggies all but ended the Tiger’s CFP aspirations.
The teams were tied at 17 in the third quarter before the Aggies would end the game with 21 unanswered points (the big momentum swing coming from Aggie’s fumble return).
While the Aggies season may be over, the Tigers will play in next weekend’s SEC Championship game against Georgia.
The big story this offseason for the Aggies will surround Devon Achane, who wouldn’t comment on his football future after the game. If Achane were to return next season and with the class of recruits set to play next season… 2023 could be a special season in College Station.
