Coming into this week, the Sabres were an impressive 4-1 and playing really good hockey. Well, it wasn’t the same story this week unfortunately… Buffalo went 1-3 as they finished off their road trip & returned home.
Game 1: BUF 1 SEA 5
This was by far the worst performance of the year so far. Ugly, sloppy hockey led to Buffalo’s biggest loss of the year.
Game 2: MTL 3 BUF 2
Gritty type of game as both teams traded goals. But Montreal would score the winning goal with about 3:00 in the 3rd period to hand Buffalo its second straight loss.
Game 3: CHI 3 BUF 4 (OT)
It was the Victor Olofsson & Tage Thompson show as they each scored twice to move Buffalo past Chicago. This was a nice come-from-behind win for the Sabres as they entered the 3rd period down 3-1 but tied things up on (2) Tage Thompson goals before ending the night winners in OT.
Buffalo sits at 5-3 on the season and currently sits in 3rd place in the Atlantic.
