The Orioles have won their series against the Yankees two games, to one!
Game 1:
Orioles 2 Yankees 1
In game 1, Jordan Lyles had another tremendous performance on the mound for the O’s. Lyles pitched 7 innings of 1-run baseball, and then Felix Bautista pitched an inning allowing no hits. DL Hall entered in the 9th for the O’s and he recorded his first career save. Congrats DL! 1B Ryan Mountcastle drove in the Orioles only earned run of the ball game.
Game 2:
Orioles 0 Yankees 8
This game was horrendous for the Orioles. No runs were scored. The pitching was terrible as well. Austin Voth pitched 5 innings allowing 4 runs, and Spenser Watkins pitched 3 innings allowing 4 runs. This game was one that the O’s wanted to forget.
Game 3:
Orioles 3 Yankees 1
In the rubber match of the series, the Orioles rode the arm of starter Kyle Bradish. Kyle pitched 5 innings allowing only 3 hits and 0 runs. Logan Gillaspie, Bryan Baker, and Dillon Tate all pitched in relief and allowed a total of 1 hit and 0 runs earned. The only Yankees run was unearned. Ryan Mountcastle, Gunnar Henderson, and Austin Hays all had 3 RBI each.
With their series win, the Orioles will officially have a winning season! What a season by our guys! The Orioles have one series remaining. They will play a 3 game series against the Blue Jays in Baltimore this week. Let’s go O’s!
