The time is here! Even though it’s preseason, basketball is upon us. Also congrats to assistant coach Charles Lee for coaching his first game with the bucks as interim head coach!
Let’s talk about the good first. The Bucks’ floor spacing and tenacity were incredible for the majority of the game. A few defensive errors but across-the-board was great. I saw a lot of ball movement and unselfish basketball play. I liked the play that I saw from the rookie Beauchamp. He was aggressive on both ends of the court, but he wasn’t making a bunch of mistakes.
Now for some bad. We lost no matter if preseason or regular season, it shouldn’t be acceptable. The Bucks blew a 13-point lead that they had going into the fourth quarter. They have to be able to close out games. That was a problem that happened a few times, let’s just hope that doesn’t transition to the regular season. Another problem I saw was bad shot selection. Specifically, with Nwora. He’s had that same problem over the years and I was hoping for more of an improvement. Again this was the first preseason game, so I think there is more than plenty of time for improvement.
Next, the Bucks will head to Abu Dhabi to face the Atlanta Hawks on Oct 6th. This will be the first time an NBA game is held in Abu Dhabi. The Bucks also took part in the first NBA games in Paris since 2010. The Grizzlies will host the Magic on Oct 3rd.
