Ultegacy (pronounced uhl-tay-guh-see) is a place where the bridge of teams, athletes, and organizations meets the fans and communities. The prefix Ult- means beyond and -egacy comes from the word legacy. We want to go beyond the legacy of sports now while also educating people on the past.

On April 2, 2017, we began as NFL Breakdown Daily. For obvious reasons, we renamed the page to The Gridiron on September 21, 2017. Simple and to the point. The idea emerged of having a place called The Diamond for baseball and at first, I was not a fan of the name because it can often be referred to as a jewelry brand or similar ideas. The name The Closer was thought about but The Changeup became the temporary name. When going back to the name The Diamond, we went ahead and chose to embrace the name. The Hardwood and The Crease came later down the road with the creation of the company name Ultegacy. Over the +5 years, we have had hundreds of different administrators for different sports and teams come on and volunteer their time and we are all truly grateful to those who helped us get to where we are today.

The pyramid style in our logo and word art represents pyramids. If you want to be specific it is the pyramids of Giza. The pyramids have an interesting history. To be able to create such amazingly large structures in such a short amount of time for the time is unfathomable. Today we see them as a representation of how the past meets the present in a futuristic way. We look to bring this to sports. Educate people on the past of sports so that they can better themselves now and thus advance the future of sports as a whole.

It only makes sense for fans to be the ones who speak and communicate between the athletes and the community. Who knows their team best more than the fans?

We do not involve politics, race, gender, sexual orientation, legal issues, or anything outside of the impact of the sport in our work regardless if it is positive or negative. We keep news simple and to the point when it comes to outside issues that may affect the individual in their sport. If you want news that involves those matters in detail there are other places for them.

There is more to us than just the internet and we have major plans for the future. Hopefully, you will join us for the ride.
